This concept and prototype was planned to change the way we build social housing in Finland. A visionary plan of our clients to build small living units in ship-building harbour and assembling them into a steel skeleton structure was studied extensively. The properties of the site and the masterplan lead to dualistic approach: apartments open up to south while the prominent facade faces the road in the north. The playful north facade hides the loft. The development project is aimed to study the benefits of a steel construction in housing architecture.
